Creating Your Own Bamboo Candles

Many people have been amazed at how relaxing yet elegant the bamboo looks. And when it comes to candles, bamboo candles work really well. They have been used not only as a source of light to an otherwise dark house or room but they have also been used as a decorative piece for a table or maybe a party.

The thing about bamboo candles, as most people say, is that it brings an exotic appeal to where it is used. And because the organic candle is placed right in a piece of bamboo, the bamboo itself serves as a container. There is no need for you to ponder where to get holders or containers. And when all the wax is gone, you can simply refill it and put in a new wick and you got a brand new bamboo candle.

They may look pretty elegant and pretty pricey however this kind of candle is quite easy to do. If you know your way with making candles, you can create your own batch without much effort. All you will need are pieces of bamboo. Make sure that you do not have really huge ones or really small ones. The height can vary and it will depend on how tall or short you want them to be. You also need to prepare the wax and the wick.

When you have your bamboo pieces all ready, you can prepare the wax. Melt your natural wax. You can add some scents or color if you choose to. Then when you have mixed it in, hold your wick right in the center and pour the wax right into your bamboo. Make sure that you do this quickly before the wax hardens. When that is done, allow your bamboo candles to cool for a couple of hours.

You can decorate your bamboo candles by painting the bamboo with lacquer or paint. You can also opt to glue on some ribbons or lace or glitters or anything you may want to add. Or if you want it to look really natural, then leave it as is. You can then use them as a centerpiece for your table or you can use it as the light when you are relaxing in the tub. You can also give them away as presents. If you have an outdoor party, these will definitely look great and make your party a success.
